Crowd detection is a feature that identifies a specified crowd size within a video scene.
It is supported by IC Realtime's smart Video Content Analytics (VCA) in their NDAA camera line.
How do I begin the setup process for crowd detection?
Log in to your camera's IP address using a web browser.
Navigate to the "Detection" category on the left-hand menu and select "Smart VCA".
How do I create a crowd detection zone?
Once the Smart VCA menu loads, click on the "Rule" category, then click the "Add" button on the right.
Select "Crowd Detection" from the drop-down menu.
Move your cursor to the video preview window and use a left-click to place anchor points to draw your detection box.
Double left-click to finalize the creation of your crowd detection zone.
How do I set the threshold to trigger a crowd detection alert?
Define the specific number of people you want to trigger the rule, then click the "Save" button in the lower right corner to apply it.
How can I test the newly created rule with live alerts?
Click on the "Live" category in the left-hand navigation menu to review the rule with live alert notifications.
How do I access recorded crowd detection events?
Open the IC Secure Client software and load the live feed for the configured camera.
Click the "Replay" option in the toolbar, located in the upper right corner of the video feed.
By default, this loads the last 30 seconds of recorded video.
