IC Secure E-Map Setup - FAQs

What is the purpose of the e-map function in IC Secure?
The Electronic Map (E-Map) transforms a camera system into an interactive site map.
It helps operators quickly pinpoint where an event is occurring, identify the correct live camera, and seamlessly navigate property deployments with less confusion.

What are the key features of the E-Map?
 - It allows for visual camera placement directly onto real floor plans.
 - It shows the camera's field of view direction and coverage.
 - It features clickable camera icons that open an instant live view.
 - It supports multi-level nested maps for larger properties.
 - It provides alarm responsiveness by sending live notifications directly to the specific location on the E-Map.

What image file types are supported for importing an E-Map?
Supported formats include Bitmap (.bmp), Graphics Interchange Format (.gif), Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpeg), Portable Network Graphics (.png), and Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg).

How is an E-Map named?
By default, the E-Map is named automatically after the imported image file, excluding its file extension.
If you want to customize the name without altering the source image file, you can left-click and modify the text displayed underneath the uploaded image in the software.

How do I place and configure cameras on the map?
After double left-clicking the uploaded image to enter edit mode, you can drag and drop a camera from the device list onto your desired map location.
To adjust the direction the camera is facing, left-click and drag inside its field of view cone.
To alter the camera's viewing distance, use the middle anchor point.
To widen or narrow the field of view, adjust the outer anchor points.

How do I view the e-map and load live camera streams?
Once setup is finalized, you can drag and drop your newly created E-Map from the live view tab directly into one of the video viewing quadrants.
To stream live video from a specific camera on the map, double left-click its camera icon, which will automatically load its live feed into the next available viewing quadrant.
