Bridge Mode Functionality - FAQs

What are the benefits of Bridge Mode?
It allows the built-in PoE switch to act as an external PoE switch.
It gives installers the ability to use NVRs for home integration scenarios.
It enables built-in ports to work with any PoE camera from a third-party manufacturer.


Will the recorder auto-initialize and add cameras when using the built-in switch?
No


Can I log into the main menu of the NVR using a monitor & mouse connected to the recorder?
Yes, you can also log in using a web browser from a computer on the same network.


Which button will prompt the NVR to scan the network for any devices with an ONVIF profile?
The "Search Device" button


If you see a red light in the camera status column, how can you tell what error is causing the issue?
Hover over the status bar to see what the error is.


What happens to the DHCP when Bridge Mode is toggled on?
The DHCP will see the IP Device (or camera) and serve it an IP address on the Local Area Network for seamless communication with other devices/platforms on the LAN.


Which menu allows you to modify the IP address on the camera?
